Bentley's Monster Party.

For Bentley's second birthday I decided on a Monster theme. Of course his birthday was in May but this is part of the month long of blogging to catch up on things:)
We decided to have it at home and do the usual bounce house thing. The kids love those things and the guy we use for the bounce houses is awesome. He is a one man show so he drops it off when he's in the area, so we got the bounce house Friday evening and he didn't pick it up until Monday evening. The party was on Sunday. By the time the party got here the kids were all bounced out. They were so excited we got to keep it all weekend long. All the usual family and friends were here to help us celebrate.

The invitation I got from Big Day Invitations via Etsy. I also got a printable party pack to match the invites. I got a banner, 8x10 sign, cupcake toppers, water bottle/silverware wrapper, tent folds, and favor tags. I hope I remember everything that was included in party pack. You get a lot!  Oh and thank you cards.....something I did not take advatage of. I have been so so bad about writing thank yous. I feel horrible. But do know I am so grateful for everything our little dudes get on their birthdays.

The chalkboard monster printable I got from Lollipop Ink via Etsy. I got it printed in a 8x10 and used washi tape to tape to mirror.

Here is a close up of the chalkboard poster. I love it!And it's something that we can keep forever and include with his scrapbook. But I forgot one of his favorite words {JEEP} and I noticed like the next day he really had 17 teeth. He had a sneaky molar coming in waaaaay in the back. And you all know how hard it is to see inside a toddler's mouth.

This sign I had in a flower pot right outside the front door. I punch a couple holes, one at top and bottom then slide a dowel through them and stuck it in the pot.

Singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY! All smiles!!! The there's Easton eyeballing the candle getting ready to BLOW!

 MAKE A WISH!!!!!

Bentley had 3 little helpers helping him open his presents.

The kids tackling poor Jerry. I don't think he realized what he got himself into.

Monster Jam Party.

So a little over a month ago we had the boys'  birthday party. Even though their birthdays were still like 3 weeks away we like having their party the first weekend of December. It's a little bit away from Christmas but still in their birthday month. They wanted to have a Monster Jam party with a bounce house. Well since their birthday is in December we had to warn them that it might rain and if it rains we cannot have a bounce house. We told them that several times and they still wanted to have it at home.

So the birthday weekend comes and its pouring rain and actually it poured all week  and was suppose to let up on Sunday the day of the party. That Friday I was running errands for the party and it was crazy out. Pouring and windy. I was soaked every time I got out of the car. So Sunday morning comes around and it's just crazy out! We had a few down pours and one lasted for a while the  backyard flooded and water came into our bedroom:)) Yep water all inside our room, it could have been worse....down the street it was a river and cars were flooded, so thankful that didn't happen. SO we got a little water in the bedroom and had to pull out some of the padding and replace it. We were a little displaced for a few days but nothing too bad. And we went on with the party and the sun decided to show itself but still no bounce house. Everything was waaaayyyy too wet for that.

Even though there was no bounce house the boys still had a great time. And really that's all who really matters. I am not concerned with everyone else {I mean a  little bit}, as long as my boys have fun that's all we care about. I ordered this cool Grave Digger pinata and filled it with gold fish, graham crackers and m&m's. Instead of having your typical party favors I ordered these little monster jam boxes and the kids filled them up with the snack pack of goodies that filled the pinata. It was so funny watching the kids try and hit the pinata blind folded. So after the first time around we took off the blind fold. It was a little hard for them:)

At first I wanted to order a cake shaped like a monster truck but then after calling around and getting some quotes I just couldn't see paying that much for a cake. Then when Cameron said he wanted me to make his cake I started  thinking and looking around. I came across this blog where I got the idea for the cake and thought to myself I could totally do that.....and I did!!! The boys loved the cake and thought it was "super awesome".
I made 3 cakes put two together and then the third one I used for the ramps. I used graham crackers and brown and gold sprinkles for the dirt. I had some posters of the invitation made and used for decorations and I also put up some pictures of the boys at a recent Monster Truck show we went to.
I made the little fabric flag garland, I just love making these! Its super easy and looks so cute. Then afterwards you can use it for decorations around the house. I hung these ones I made for the party in the playroom. So it kinda has a Monster Truck theme now. I also took the posters I had made and put those in there too along with the all the monster truck wall decals. The boys think its so cool.

Eating left over birthday pizza for breakfast the next morning:))

Baby Shower for Landon.

The day after Bentley's party was my sister-in-law's {Jennifer} baby shower for baby Landon.  It made for a super busy weekend. My mother-in-law and I co-hosted it, although she did most of the work because....well I was pre-occupied with other things:)

Hopefully baby Landon will arrive sometime tonight. Jennifer has an appointment to be induced at 5pm today. I am hoping that since this is not her first child her labor progresses and moves fast. This is my brother-in-law's {Darrin} first child and he is a bundle of nerves right now.  I am hoping he can hold it together...love you Darrin;)

Anyway back to the shower. I ordered the invites through the same Etsy shop where I got Bentley's invites. Jae Marie does such AWESOME work. All of her invites are super cute.

And Yes her name is J. Lo......love you Jen;)

My MIL Donna made these little cards for people to write wishes on for mom and baby.

 Sorry for the dark picture.

Of course there is a diaper cake!

These little glass gems are from Personalized Pebbles....another Etsy shop. I just love Etsy!

And no there is NOT a picture of the mom to be. She absolutely hates her picture being taken and the one picture I had of her from this day was not very good and she would kill me if I posted it.

Good Luck tonight Jen and Darrin! We can't wait to see and meet baby Landon!!! XOXO

Baby Bentey's Party.

About a month ago we had a little party for Bentley. It was suppose to be a meet and greet but mostly everyone that came had already met him. It is a very busy time of year and there were a few people who were not able to make it. It was a great day with the family and friends that were able to make it. We got a bounce house for the kids and grilled up some hot dogs and hamburgers.

Before I was even pregnant this third time around I knew I would not be having another baby shower. I wanted a sip n see or meet and greet type of party for the baby. There really is no need to have a third baby shower when all my babes are 2 years apart. Before we found out what the sex of the baby was I was dreaming of having an all pink party but on that January day baby boy #3 squashed those pink dreams. I was thinking and thinking of themes that would be perfect....and what do you know...I picked a baseball themed party. I fell in love with this baby shower invite I found on Etsy and that set up the whole theme of things.

Check out Larkspur Street on Etsy. Jae Marie does awesome work.

I ordered the strawberries from Shari's Berries.....aren't they cute?!

The flag pennant banner I made and got the idea from Pinterest. Click here for the tutorial. It was super easy to make. I have a ton of fabric so I am going to make a few more and put in both the boys' bedrooms, they will go perfect in both bedrooms. Both have the baseball theme going on.

My sweet Mom found this Pepsi crate for me for only $10. I filled it with some goodies.

Baseball Sip N See Inspiration.

Since this is our third baby we have decided not to have a baby shower for this little guy, instead we are going to have a little meet and greet party after he his born. Even if this little guy was a little princess we still would just have a little party and no shower. I have been browsing Pinterest for some inspiration. After going back and forth we have decided on a baseball theme. Of course we are huge baseball family so it comes as no big surprise. Plus it's perfect for a summer time BBQ party.
Now the only hard part is picking a date to have this little shin dig. We have so much going on this summer, especially the end of May and beginning of June. And since we don't know exactly when baby will be here it makes it a little more difficult and we want to have to it while Ryan is still off work so that only gives us like a month. As soon as we get a few things done around the house to get ready for this little bundle I am going to start buying and getting ready so I am not so overwhelmed at the last minute.

First thing first is the invitation. I found this on Etsy and it's by far my favorite. I absolutely love it. Of course I will need to change the wording around a little bit but think its perfect.

How cute are these little hot dog holders?! I would love to find some little cardboard food holders, like the ones you get at the ballparks to carry all your goodies in. These are a must!!!

I am hoping to find a crate similar to this. I found this on Etsy and just might order it if I can't find something similar. I want to fill it with Cracker Jacks and Big League Chew. It will make the perfect little decoration.

I have been seeing these all over Pinterest and there are lots of different ways you can make them. I think this is my favorite way so far. It looks easy enough for me to even try. I think this would make a cute decoration in red, white, blue, and baseball fabric. And I can use it after the party for a bedroom decoration, either for the baby's room or Cameron and Easton's bedroom....surprise, surprise both bedrooms will be baseball rooms:))

I think I am going to put some some peanuts, licorice, and maybe sunflower seeds in some glass containers like these. I was also thinking of putting some peanuts in brown paper bags. Still undecided about that but I do know I will use these for something.

I say I am going to try and keep it simple but sometimes I tend to get carried away. I love baseball and all the decorations that go along with it and since this baby boy isn't getting a shower I want his party to be perfect. Plus the little party will between Memorial Day and Fourth of July so we will be able to find all sorts of red, white, and blue decorations that will go right along with it. We also plan on getting a bounce house for the little ones, they are going to love that!!

So do any of you have any ideas you want to share? Or what are your favorite baseball food and drinks?
