Make it Monday

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We cooled off at my Sister and brother-in-law house...they have a pool and we pretty much just invite ourselves over:) And then yesterday the kids went with Grandma to the community pool followed by McDonalds then they had a flat tire when they were done so that made for a complete kid-free afternoon. I did some things around the house and enjoyed the quietness....it was awesome! That doesn't happen enough around here.

Today's Make it Monday is a color challenge that was posted on our team page.

Make it Monday.

Happy Monday! Well 17 days left! Once again that's all I have to say about that...LOL

I missed last Monday and was going to share these cards from card class BUT I started something....painting. A couple weeks ago I painted my boys' bedroom and last week I started the playroom and hallway. Its all done except the baseboards and door trims. I still need to put everything back on the walls and put stuff back where it belongs. I am trying to reorganize things as I go. I am also trying to get rid of the kids' junk as I go. They have SO much crap! It's unbelievable! The book shelf looks like a hot mess with their all over it. They are little hoarders and love to save every little piece of paper and toy. My Mom is great at helping me get them to get rid of stuff. She and Bentley already went through lots BUT there's still lots more to go through. I am also trying to redesign my little craft corner of the room. I am also finished painting my shelf I use for my stamps and punches. I did a white wash finish and lets just say it took a little more time than I thought it would....plus it was my first time so I kinda learned as I went BUT I think it's going to turn our nice. Once I am all done I will share the room with everyone:)

Here are the cards we made in card class.

This one is my favorite! I CASED from another Stampin Up! Demo Susan Wong. Thanks for the inspiration!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Make it Monday

Five weeks and three days left until school starts! The arguing and fighting back and forth...I'm so over it. Then there's the playing and getting along moments that do happen BUT they are so loud. Is it possible for them to play nice quietly...I don't think so.  That's all I have to say about that...rant over.

This week's card is once again a sketch challenge within my team I am part of. And can you believe it I was the random winner and get to pick out a new stamp set! Now what will decide on? I am so indecisive...it's a good thing my upline Suzie Barnes is on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip in Thailand right now so that gives me a few extra days to decide.

I knew whatever the challenge was this week I wanted to try and use the new Foil Frenzy DSP. This is what I came up with. I love fast and easy cards! Sometimes that's all I have time for and this card requires no STAMPING! I had left over "Happy Birthday" dies and knew I wanted to incorporate that into my card. At first I wasn't sure about it, it's so bright and shiny and kind of hurt my eyes when I kept looking at it...LOL.

Make it Monday

Well...it's been forever since I have done one of these post. Over the weekend I participated in a team color challenge and loved the color combo so much I thought I would share it. I needed a little push to throw together a quick card and I got to use some new product for the first time. I got some chores and errands done earlier today and we are having left overs for dinner so this gives me a little time to type up a quick post:)
P.S. Who doesn't love having leftovers?! It's almost like a night off from cooking!

I hope everyone has a Happy and safe Forth of July!

July Blogging Friends Blog Hop

It's JULY!!!! And I am back! The last 2-3 months have been NUTS but I am so glad I took the time to create and join the hop this month. School is out...which means lots of chaos at my house. Not like there wasn't chaos before but now with 3 kids home ALL day LONG it can get pretty crazy around here. Only 6 weeks until school starts and I CANNOT wait! The littlest one will start Kindergarten sooooooo that will be interesting.

So what I have been up to? Well....we went on an AWESOME vacation in April, lots of baseball, lots of field trips and school activities, then lots more baseball. Thankfully we will get a couple months before it starts up again. I am enjoying some down time. I am enjoying long mornings at home {even if they are crazy}, I am enjoying not having to leave the house, I am enjoying doing NOTHING! My Summer to-do list hasn't gotten any shorter yet. I think I finally chose a paint color. I think I went through about 10 or so samples. All the gray colors look so blue in my house BUT I think I have narrowed it down to two.

This months theme is watercolor. I LOVE watercoloring. I chose this card because it is simple. You simply get your aqua wet and squeeze the water on the shimmer paper, then take the ink from your stamp pad with the aqua painter and let loose on your paper. I got mine a little too wet and it took awhile to dry plus it curled up the paper a little BUT I still love the way it turned out. This is one of the new in-colors Berry Burst. LOVE it!!!

Let's see what Jodi has created this month.....I bet it's AWESOME!!!

I would LOVE for you to join me on Facebook!!!! Once I reach 100 members I am going to have an awesome give-a-way!!!
